We study a variationnal formulation of the porous media equation and viscous Burgers equation established by Yann Brenier. We recover the solutions from the minimizer of a space-time functional which bears a striking ressemblance to the Benamou Brenier formulation of optimal transportation. We construct a discretization and establish convergence of the associated numerical scheme.
