By public transport
Suburban rail: take the RER B line from Paris, and get off at Orsay-Ville station.
Descend the stairs from the platform, and turn left. After exiting the tunnel, walk straight down the hill (rue Desjobert) and just before you get to the bus station at the bottom, turn left into rue de Launay. Follow this road for about a minute until you see a big white building on the right (the music conservatory). Turn right in front of this building, taking the path that leads to the pedestrian bridge that crosses the stream. Cross over it, and the maths building is the first on the left.
By road
There are two options when coming from Paris:
- Take the N118, exit at "Centre Universitaire", follow the signs for "Faculté des Sciences", and drop down into the valley.
- Take the A6, then the A10 towards Bordeaux-Nantes, then towards Chartres-Orléans. Exit at "Vallée de Chevreuse, Bures" onto the N118 and get off at the "Orsay" exit. In the town, follow signs for "Université Paris-Sud". Check the map on arrival at the campus.
